McGill Figure Skating Club

McGill Figure Skating is a competitive sports club that brings together a group of experienced figure skaters who would like to continue skating throughout their university career. The competitive team environment allows for a constructive but fun atmosphere, where skaters can continue to challenge themselves and improve their figure skating skills.

The McGill Figure Skating Competitive Sports Club consists of skaters who have generally completed the Junior Silver to Gold free-skate or dance tests. Twenty skaters are selected for the competitive team and are placed into different events based on their individual skill set. We encourage all of those that are interested to try out! For those who want to skate more recreationally, we welcome you to join as a non-competitive skater.

On-ice sessions: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6:30-8:00am

Off-ice sessions: Monday 6:00-7:00pm

We attend two competitions based out of OUA institutions, one in November and one in January. To train for these, we had on-ice practices three times per week from 6:30-8:00am and one off-ice practice per week in the evening. Each competition includes a variety of events for both free-skate and dance, as well as synchro at the winter competition.

The approximate cost to join is $750 for the competitive team and $350 for the recreational/non-competitive club
