McGill Nordic Ski Club

The McGill Nordic Ski Team is a student-run competitive, and recreational, club that represents McGill at regional, national, and international races and loppets. Our mission is to get as many skiers on snow as we can, push ourselves at every race, and have a great time all season.

Our team is home to skiers with a wide range of experience, from those just  learning to ski to those who have competed at the national level. As a  result, we place a high level of emphasis on experienced skiers teaching  newer members how to ski. Athletes can join the team at either a recreational  or competitive level; annual fees and training schedules vary accordingly.

Our training schedule starts in early September, with dryland training and conditioning until the first snowfall. As snowfall increases, we train on the Mount Royal trails, with a few weekend trips up to the Mont-Tremblant area to gain access to more extensive trails.

Our competitive skiers race in the ECSC division of the USCSA collegiate circuit, and both competitive and recreational team members regularly participate in the Coupe Quebec university circuit races, local citizen races, and elsewhere. Interested skiers can join the team starting in early September, and have until mid-October to confirm their registration by paying the applicable team fee.

Annual fees are separated between Competitive and Recreational club members. The approximate cost to join the competitive team is $500 and the recreational team is $150, although fees may vary year to year.
