We are a university- and community-based track and field club serving students and the general population, ranging in age from 9 to Masters. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, members have the opportunity to train and/or compete in many disciplines of track and field. Whether your goal is to become a top level athlete or simply to fulfill personal goals, we can help you to realize your potential.
Our mission is to provide an avenue for developing young athletes, McGill students, staff and the community at large in the sport of track and field. We are affiliated with the governing body of track and field in the country, Athletics Canada, through our provincial branch, the Federation Quebecoise d’Athletisme.
Athletes will be able to compete in local, national and international competitions based on performance criteria. The club is also for those who wish to have a group to train with while being instructed on the technical and theoretical aspects of training.
Athletes are grouped based on ability.
Memberships are available on a seasonal (fall, winter, summer) or annual basis and can be purchased at the McGill Sports Complex.
Training sessions for distance athletes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and for power group athletes (sprinters, jumpers and throwers), they take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. All of our training sessions take place at one of the venues in and around the McGill Sports Complex, which includes a 200m indoor track, a 400m outdoor track, weight training facilities, and Mt. Royal Park.
